We use only digital X-rays that provide the image of the interior of your mouth immediately on our computer screen. By placing a small digital sensor in your mouth, we have the picture we need without the drawn-out process of conventional X-rays needing to be developed. No chemicals that pollute are used, and the radiation level is 75% less with digital imaging. We also have the ability to capture the upper and lower dental arches in one image with panoramic digital imaging.
You can be assured that we never take any risk when it comes to guarding your health. We sterilize all our re-usable tools and discard single-use tools after the treatment. We use an autoclave to clean instruments to specification. This unit is monitored by an outside lab to ensure all safety and cleanliness standards are met.
Most innovative dental technologies make treatments less time-consuming as well as more comfortable for patients. The Piezo Scaler™ is an advancement in teeth cleaning technology that produces high-frequency vibrations to easily and quickly remove deposits of plaque and calculus (tartar) from your teeth. It works on the surface of teeth as well as deep pockets in the gums to reduce the chance of gum disease. There is less discomfort with this instrument, and you will be impressed how clean your teeth are after treatment with the Piezo Scaler!
Dr. Coleman believes in working together with every patient to form a bond of teamwork. With the use of the intra-oral camera, you can see for yourself a clear and close-up image of the inside of your mouth. It lets you know which teeth have problems and which teeth are in good shape. All of our patients enjoy being part of the decision-making process, and you will appreciate it too!
Approximately 5 million teeth are lost each year due to trauma and
injury to the mouth. This statistic is just in the U.S. alone! The
American Dental Association states that wearing a custom-made mouthguard
during sports participation can greatly help to reduce the occurrence of
tooth loss. Over-the-counter mouthguards sold in stores do not protect
well or give the proper fit. Often times, they hinder performance, as
breathing can be difficult while wearing one. It is recommended to wear a
custom-fitted mouthguard for these sports:
Acrobatics, martial arts, racquetball, basketball, field hockey, football, gymnastics, handball, ice hockey, skydiving, lacrosse, roller hockey, rugby, shotputting, skateboarding, skiing, soccer, boxing, squash, surfing, volleyball, water polo, weight lifting, wrestling.
